On February 9, 2026, Zack Trapp, Wil Vancol and Ralph Martinez obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case in Orange County, FL. The plaintiff claimed that our clients, a group of advanced gastrointestinal endoscopists, failed to timely diagnose a bile duct perforation after a ERCP procedure. After a 6-day trial, the defense was able to show that the medical records, laboratory results and radiographic imaging contradicted Plaintiff’s theory, and instead showed that the patient experienced a delayed bile duct perforation about 6 days after the procedure, which was timely diagnosed and treated. The jury returned a complete defense verdict on behalf of the GI team.
