Biography
Kanika graduated cum laude from Barry University, Dwayne O’ Andreas School of Law in 2024, where she earned her law degree as well as a Family Law Honors Certification. Prior to becoming a law student, she also earned a Bachelors of Computer Information System in 2009, and a Masters in Business Administration in 2013, from Pokhara University, Nepal. During law school, she also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Judge Barbara J. Leach in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, conducting detailed legal research and drafting bench memoranda on complex issues, including International Hague Convention matters. Kanika got admitted to the Florida Bar in the year 2024. She practiced Nursing Home litigation for a year before joining MMDHV. She intends to focus her practice on medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, and general civil litigation.
Kanika has previous work experience as a liaison for Singapore Red Cross Society where she was a primary point of contact for donors for relief funds. She also worked as a short term consultant for the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group, where she developed and supported private sector led programs to enhance trade facilitation across South East Asia.
Kanika is fluent in multiple languages including Hindi and Nepali. She offers a global perspective and cultural sensitivity in her approach to legal matters. She is also dedicated to giving back to the community, shown through her volunteer work in multiple organizations like Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Red Cross Society, and Orange County Bar Association.
