Tom Dukes and Dhillon Ramkhelawan obtained a defense verdict for a Daytona Beach urologist after a week-long medical malpractice trial in Volusia County on April 16, 2026. Plaintiff alleged our client perforated the top of his bladder during a Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (“TURBT”) procedure and failed to take appropriate measures to address his postoperative symptoms. The case was defended with vigorous expert support, and the testimony from Plaintiff’s subsequent treating general surgeon and urologist, who all confirmed Plaintiff’s bladder perforation was in an entirely different area than where our client operated, and that he provided reasonable care to address Plaintiff’s postoperative symptoms. The jury came back with a defense verdict exonerating our client after only an hour of deliberations.
