The Sixth District Court of Appeals issued its Order affirming a summary judgment previously obtained by Dhillon Ramkhelawan and Tom Dukes for a local high school in Orange County

On December 23, 2025, the Sixth District Court of Appeals issued its Order affirming a summary judgment previously obtained by Dhillon Ramkhelawan and Tom Dukes for a local high school in Orange County. The underlying litigation surrounded a wrestling match at our client’s high school where one of the competitors pushed his opponent into the stands, injuring Plaintiff. Plaintiff argued the setup of the wrestling mats were negligently close to the bleachers. The trial judge agreed that Plaintiff did not provide any record evidence that the setup of mats in relation to bleachers constituted a dangerous condition and that our client did not violate any state or national athletic guidelines. The trial judge also agreed that even if the set up was to be considered a dangerous condition, it was an open and obvious condition. The Sixth District Court of Appeals agreed with the trial court and affirmed our summary judgment on appeal.
