On March 21, 2024, Wilbert Vancol and Ralph Martinez obtained a verdict on behalf of our client, a Defendant-orthopedic surgeon, following a 4-day trail in Volusia County. Our client, in managing a patient with the non-displaced distal tibial fracture, decided to move forward with conservative management. Plaintiff argued the fracture required surgical intervention. Mr. Vancol and Mr. Martinez presented testimony from multiple expert witnesses, which helped establish that the standard of care was met by our client. After less than an hour of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict on behalf of our client.
